Johnson Service Group, a nationally recognized professional recruiting firm, is currently partnering with a global manufacturing organization in their search for an experienced EHS Manager. This onsite leadership role, located near the Jackson, TN area, offers the opportunity to help shape a safer, healthier, and more sustainable future across a growing operation.


The EHS Manager will play a critical role in driving environmental, health, and safety excellence by developing innovative strategies that protect employees, strengthen organizational culture, and reinforce the company’s commitment to environmental stewardship and operational excellence.

This position will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS programs and management systems while ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and corporate regulations, policies, and standards. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader who thrives in a collaborative manufacturing environment and is passionate about creating meaningful, lasting impact.

Working cross-functionally with operations, engineering, human resources, and site leadership, the EHS Manager will champion proactive safety initiatives, foster employee engagement, and drive a culture of continuous improvement throughout the facility.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures, and management systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements, as well as internal corporate standards and guidelines.
  • Conduct risk assessments, hazard analyses, incident investigations, and root cause corrective actions.
  • Lead and facilitate EHS training programs to promote a strong, proactive safety culture across the organization.
  • Manage required environmental permits, reporting, documentation, and regulatory submissions.
  • Coordinate emergency response planning, drills, and preparedness activities.
  • Perform internal audits, inspections, and assessments to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS priorities into daily manufacturing operations and strategic initiatives.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory updates, and best practices to proactively enhance EHS performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing risk, improving sustainability, and increasing employee engagement.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive EHS leadership experience within manufacturing, industrial, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards and regulations.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing EHS management systems and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, NEBOSH, or equivalent are preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and build strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to drive accountability and cultural change.
