Compensation: $120,000–$140,000 base salary + 10–15% bonus

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced EHS Manager to lead Environmental, Health & Safety programs at a manufacturing facility in Salt Lake City. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for driving a strong safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, developing and maintaining EHS programs, and supporting a safe and productive manufacturing environment.
The EHS Manager will report to the Director of EHS and lead a team of three EHS professionals. The ideal candidate will have a strong manufacturing background, previous people leadership experience, and hands-on experience with core industrial safety programs including LOTO, risk assessments, electrical safety, confined space, employee training, and OSHA compliance.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage the site's Environmental, Health & Safety programs in a manufacturing environment.
• Provide leadership and direction to a team of three EHS professionals while partnering closely with operations, engineering, facilities, and other functional teams.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve EHS policies, procedures, programs, and training.
• Conduct and oversee risk assessments, job hazard analyses, job safety analyses, and other assessments to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
• Lead and maintain Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and machine safety programs.
• Provide guidance and oversight for electrical safety programs and safe work practices.
• Manage confined space safety programs and ensure appropriate procedures, training, and controls are in place.
• Develop and deliver EHS training for employees, supervisors, and leadership.
• Maintain OSHA compliance and administer the OSHA 300 Log and related reporting requirements.
• Lead incident investigations and root-cause analysis, including methodologies such as 5-Why and Fishbone analysis, and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Support emergency preparedness, PPE, ergonomics, powered industrial truck, aerial work platform, working-at-heights, hearing conservation, and other applicable safety programs.
• Monitor site EHS performance, identify areas for improvement, and establish appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
• Partner with manufacturing leadership to integrate safety into daily operations, process changes, and new initiatives.
• Support regulatory compliance with applicable federal, state, and local EHS requirements.
• Maintain accurate EHS documentation, records, procedures, and training materials.
• Participate in safety meetings, awareness programs, audits, inspections, and employee engagement initiatives.
• Manage EHS-related budgets, schedules, contractors, equipment, and resources as needed.
• Promote a proactive safety culture and ensure employees at all levels understand and follow established safety requirements.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related technical discipline; equivalent EHS experience may also be considered.
• 7+ years of progressive EHS experience.
• Previous EHS leadership or supervisory experience is required.
• Strong manufacturing industry experience is required.
• Hands-on experience with LOTO, risk assessments/JHA/JSA, electrical safety, and confined space programs.
• Experience developing and delivering safety training to manufacturing employees.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and experience managing OSHA 300 Logs.
• Strong understanding of industrial safety practices, hazard identification, incident investigation, and corrective action.
• Experience working across multiple manufacturing operations or functional areas.
• Strong communication, documentation, organizational, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification strongly preferred.
• Experience with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001.
• Additional safety certifications are a plus.
• Experience with machine safety, emergency preparedness, ergonomics, PPE, PIT/AWP, hearing conservation, and working-at-heights programs.
• Experience with environmental, health, and safety program development or implementation in a manufacturing facility.
