What You'll Do

  • Lead the EH&S function for the site — set the strategy, own the outcomes, and report on the metrics that matter.
  • Build and evolve policies, procedures, and programs that go beyond regulatory minimums.
  • Drive compliance with federal, state (Cal/OSHA), and local environmental and safety regulations — including reporting, audits, and corrective actions.
  • Run risk assessments and audits that find problems before they find you.
  • Lead incident investigations, dig into root causes, and close the loop with real fixes.
  • Design and deliver training that employees actually engage with.
  • Partner cross-functionally with operations, engineering, HR, and maintenance to embed safety into how the plant runs day-to-day.
  • Champion continuous improvement — push the needle on leading indicators, not just lagging ones.

What You Bring

  • Several years of progressive EH&S experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Automotive or tier-1 supplier background is a strong plus.
  • Deep working knowledge of OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and state environmental regulations.
  • A proven track record with compliance reporting, internal/external audits, and driving corrective actions to closure.
  • Influence and presence — you can connect with a machine operator on the floor in the morning and brief the plant manager in the afternoon.
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Strong candidates with equivalent hands-on EH&S experience and no degree are absolutely encouraged to apply.
  • Certifications a plus: CSP, CIH, CHMM, or similar.
