This position will also be responsible to ensure plant and employee safety programs are developed and carried out.Primary Responsibilities & DutiesLead the site towards common goals of achieving a working environment free of injuriesChampion effective safety and environmental policies, procedures, practices, and injury prevention programsChampion safety, ergonomic, industrial hygiene and environmental training programs as required by OSHA, EPA/DNR and Nelson Global ProductsManage OSHA and EPA/DNR complianceAssist with Machine modifications and new installations of equipment and production processes per all HSE guidelines and required standardsManage and maintain business continuity plansLead the development and coordination of plans to meet environmental regulations, corporate initiatives, & customer driven requirementsTrack, maintain & report HSE data specific to the site performance, regulatory and corporate standards.Maintain and enhance NGP's role of good citizenship in the communityPromote cross-functional training and problem solving to effectively improve health, safety & environmentPromote, facilitate and coordinate safety team activitiesPromote, facilitate and coordinate behavior-based safety programsAll other duties as assignedRequired Experience3 - 5 years relevant experienceExperience within manufacturing processesPreferred EducationBachelor's in Industrial Hygiene, Safety, Environmental or certification such as a CSP, CIH, CHST or equivalentSkills & AbilitiesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to develop training and train employeesExcellent problem-solving skillsProject managementSolid working knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations in OSHA and EPA complianceStrong analytical skills and problem-solving abilitiesUnderstanding of (safety and environmental) management systemsKnowledge of principles of ergonomics, industrial hygiene, and behavioral based safety strategiesComputer proficiency in MS windows and office applications, specifically Excel and PowerPointStrong leadership skillsEqual Opportunity EmployerEqual Opportunity Employer / Protected Veterans / Individuals with Disabilities.
