Are you ready to lead the charge in creating a safe and compliant work environment in a rapidly growing organization?
About the Role
This position is responsible for the development and management of comprehensive Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs. The role exists to protect the organization from regulatory risks and ensure safety as production capacity expands. It contributes by embedding a culture of safety and regulatory compliance within the company.
Key Responsibilities
Build and implement comprehensive EHS programs, policies, and procedures across all facilities.
Ensure full OSHA compliance and overall regulatory readiness; lead incident investigation, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
Manage air permitting, wastewater treatment compliance, and accurate waste/scrap reporting to prevent city, state, or federal fines.
Develop and deliver training programs that drive accountability and continuous improvement on the floor.
Partner with Operations, Production, Maintenance, and Quality to embed EHS into daily operations and prepare the organization for the new production line.
Conduct risk assessments, audits, and inspections; drive proactive identification and mitigation of hazards.
Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and maintain all required documentation and reporting.
Protect the company from an EHS standpoint as it scales rapidly—establishing systems that support growth without introducing unnecessary bureaucracy.
Minimum Requirements
5–10 years of solid EHS management experience, preferably gained in larger organizations.
Proven track record of building EHS programs from the ground up.
Strong regulatory capability across OSHA compliance, air permitting, wastewater treatment, and proper waste/scrap reporting.
Comfortable and effective in a rapid-growth, "drink from a fire hose” environment—able to prioritize, adapt, and deliver results amid change.
Builder mindset with the ability to create structure and protection while remaining practical and operationally grounded.
Excellent communication and influence skills; able to engage both leadership and floor-level teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Food manufacturing experience (FDA/USDA knowledge or food-waste handling) is a plus but not required.
Strong candidates from non-food manufacturing, chemical, industrial, or other highly regulated environments who can transfer regulatory and systems-building skills are encouraged to apply.
