Requisition Number : EHSSA002880Full-TimeOn-siteLocationsShowing 1 locationBay Springs, MS 39422, USADescriptionEssential Functions of PositionSafety AdministrationAdminister basic first aid at the facilityTransport injured or ill team members to designated health care facilities using company van when required.Conduct pre-employment and reasonable suspicion drug screenings in accordance with company policy.Conduct new-hire safety orientation and ensure all required documentation is completed accurately.Work with all team members, serving as support for safety-related needsAssist in identifying and correcting unsafe conditions and behaviors.Promote and reinforce a culture of zero injuries through employee engagementMaintain OSHA 300 and 300A logs and assist with annual reporting requirementsComplete accident investigations and determine root causeAssist with RTW planning and transitional/restricted job assignmentsConduct various trainings through various means of distribution, inclusive but not limited to: LOTO Authorized and Affected, PIT (various) Authorized and Affected, Hot Work Authorized and Affected, etc.Interact with third-party administrator and their personnel to provide/receive updates on WC claimsUpdate EHS Manager on Workers' Compensation claimsSchedule and conduct monthly safety trainings as distributed by EHS ManagerOversight of the activities of the plant Safety Committee and GEMBA walksAssist with the completion of yearly OSHA LogsConduct Plant incident investigations; utilize known root cause analysis techniques; work with team members to implement processes to prevent recurrence.Maintain all EHS records and filesReview and maintain all company personal injury records.Calibrate, maintain, and utilize monitoring of PAA meter, Multigas meter, etc.Other duties as assignedPhysical Demands:Walk and stand for approximately 50% of the workday.Sit and work at a computer workstation for approximately 50% of the workday.Frequently bend, kneel, reach, stoop, and occasionally climb stairs/ladders.Occasionally lift, pull, push or carry up to 40 poundsMust be able to respond quickly during emergency situationsMust be able to wear required PPECold and wet processing environmentHot, humid and dusty production and maintenance areasExposure to moving machinery and powered industrial equipmentExposure to various chemicalsIndoor and outdoor work as business requiresMinimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED required.First Aid/CPR/AED Certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employmentMinimum of (3) years of Environmental, Health, and Safety experience in a poultry processing facility.Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and general safety practices.Experience conducting employee safety trainingBasic Computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and email.Valid Driver's LicensePreferred QualificationsAssociate's or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Safety Management or related field.First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor certificationCurrent EMT certificationOSHA 30-Hour General Industry certificationExperience with OSHA recordkeeping and worker's compensation administration.Experience conducting workplace accident investigations and root cause analysis.Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of OSHA safety standards and regulatory requirementsAbility to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organizationStrong organizational skills and time management skillsAbility to prioritize multiple assignments in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentAbility to work independently with limited supervisionStrong attention to detailAbility to maintain professionalism and confidentialityThis job description is not a comprehensive list of duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee.
