Responsibilities:

POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITES:

The EHS Safety Technician supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of company safety programs and systems. This role ensures effective safety communications, reliable safety system administration, and strong data integrity, serving as a key connection point between field operations, corporate safety leadership, and digital safety platforms. The position helps ensure that safety expectations are clearly communicated, consistently applied, and accurately captured across the organization.

 

Key Responsibilities:


Field Safety & Inspections
• Conduct monthly inspections of plant, field, rolling stock, and ASU safety equipment, and perform minor upkeep as needed.
• Identify safety concerns and conduct safety inspections at plant and field locations.
• Perform daily monitoring of groundwater remediation sites and conduct quarterly stormwater inspections.
• Maintain safety equipment supply inventory to ensure adequate stock levels.
• Provide safety assistance and oversight for permit-to-work activities.


Compliance, Training & Recordkeeping
• Assist with plant compliance and training recordkeeping, including updating reference manuals and new employee orientations.
• Lead safety meetings and toolbox talks as required.
• Support incident and accident response, investigations, drills, and follow-up corrective action planning.
• Prepare safety statistics and reports to monitor compliance and track performance trends.


Safety Systems Administration & Support
• Administer and support enterprise safety management systems used for incident reporting, near-miss and good-catch submissions, permits, inspections, and other safety-related processes.
• Maintain system configuration, workflows, user access, and data quality standards.
• Support accurate and consistent documentation of incidents and safety events.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for system troubleshooting, user support, and process guidance related to safety reporting tools.


Safety Data & Reporting
• Support the collection, validation, and maintenance of safety data used for dashboards, scorecards, and leadership and regulatory reporting.
• Assist in preparing safety metrics related to injuries and incidents, training completion, and leading indicators.
• Identify data gaps, inconsistencies, and trends that impact safety insights and decision-making.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to promote consistent definitions, reporting standards, and strong data integrity.

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
• Work cross-functionally with field operations, corporate safety leadership, IT, and third-party vendors to support safety program objectives.
• Support onboarding, communication, and user adoption of safety systems and processes.
• Gather feedback from field users and leadership to support continuous improvement of safety tools and workflows.
• Assist with safety communications, internal reviews and audits, and ongoing improvements to safety documentation and processes.

Qualifications:

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

 

The successful candidate will have:
• Experience working in safety, EHS, operations support, or a related discipline, with demonstrated experience supporting safety management systems, training programs, or compliance processes.
• Strong attention to detail, the ability to manage data accuracy and consistency, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments and with field personnel.
• Strong organizational, communication, and follow-through skills, along with the ability to translate safety requirements into practical, field-ready guidance.
• Experience in oil and gas, energy, industrial, or high-hazard operations is preferred, as is familiarity with incident metrics, leading indicators, and safety performance reporting.
• A continuous improvement mindset and a service-driven, field-oriented approach are essential for success in this role.

 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to move or traverse from one location on the job site to another. This includes the ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods, frequently positioning oneself (e.g., to stoop, kneel, or squat) to perform tasks, and occasionally ascend/descend (e.g., ladders or uneven terrain)
  • Ability to detect, determine, perceive, identify, recognize, judge, observe, inspect, estimate, and assess driving operations effectively (either naturally or with corrective lenses).
  • Ability to operate a 4X4 vehicle.
  • Must be able to repetitively move or position feet, shoulders, arms, wrists, and back. Constantly operates, uses, and positions hands and fingers in performance of work
  • Must be able to work atop elevated surfaces and traverse various heights
  • Lifts or carries 70 lbs. or more, which falls into the "Very heavy" category (over 50 pounds).
  • Frequently pushes and pulls with a maximum force of 150 ft./lbs.
  • Constantly works in outdoor weather conditions and is exposed to varying environmental conditions, including well site conditions. The position requires the ability to perform tasks in physically demanding environments, encompassing the essential physical requirements and efforts outline

Driver Requirements:

  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record
  • This position involves operating a company vehicle for work-related travel or receiving a stipend for operating a personal vehicle for company use; adherence to all traffic laws and company vehicle policies is required.
  • Candidates must be eligible to be insured under the company's vehicle insurance policy.
