EHS Specialist

Environmental Compliance

•      Monitor and ensure facility compliance with environmental regulations including EPA, RCRA, Clean Air Act, and applicable state/local requirements.

•      Maintain required environmental permits, records, and reports; coordinate regulatory inspections and agency correspondence.

•      Support waste management programs including hazardous and non-hazardous waste handling, storage, and disposal.

•      Track environmental metrics and assist with reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.

Health & Safety

•      Conduct regular workplace inspections, hazard assessments, and job safety analyses (JSAs) to identify and eliminate unsafe conditions.

•      Manage LMS or deliver EHS training programs including OSHA-required topics, ergonomics, PPE, emergency response, and lockout/tagout (LOTO).

•      Investigate workplace incidents, near-misses, and injuries; perform root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions.

•      Support the administration of ergonomic assessments and programs to reduce musculoskeletal risk, particularly in manufacturing and packaging environments.

•      Manage and maintain safety equipment, first-aid stations, eyewash stations, fire suppression systems, and emergency response supplies.

•      Serve as a resource and subject-matter expert for employees and management on EHS matters.

Security

•      Support the implementation and administration of physical security programs including access control, visitor management, and CCTV monitoring.

•      Coordinate with management on C-TPAT compliance, trailer inspection protocols, and chain-of-custody procedures for shipping and receiving.

•      Assist with security risk assessments and incident investigations; escalate concerns to appropriate leadership.

•      Maintain security-related policies, procedures, and documentation; ensure employee awareness and training.

Program Administration & Culture

•      Assist in the maintenance of the company's written EHS programs, standard operating procedures, and emergency action plans.

•      Participate in safety committee meetings; support employee engagement initiatives to promote a proactive safety culture.

•      Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, HR, maintenance, and facilities to integrate EHS considerations into day-to-day activities.

•      Stay current on regulatory changes (OSHA, EPA, DOT, and applicable state agencies) and recommend updates to programs accordingly.

Education

•      Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited institution; preferred fields include Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.

Experience

•      Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in an EHS, environmental compliance, or occupational safety role; experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial setting strongly preferred.

•      Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1910 General Industry), EPA standards, and applicable state/local requirements.

•      Hands-on experience conducting workplace inspections, incident investigations, and EHS training delivery.

•      Familiarity with physical security programs and/or C-TPAT supply chain security standards is a plus.

Certifications

•      Associate Safety Professional (ASP) credential is a plus.

•      OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification is a plus.

•      First Aid/CPR/AED certification required (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
