EHS Specialist

We are partnered with a large automotive manufacturer seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support a fast-paced environment! This position will work closely with production, engineering, maintenance, and leadership teams to ensure compliance with safety regulations, identify workplace hazards, and promote a proactive safety culture throughout the facility.

Responsibilities:

Conduct routine risk assessments, hazard analyses, and safety audits throughout manufacturing operations.
Investigate workplace incidents, near misses, and safety concerns to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Collaborate with production, engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
Provide guidance and oversight regarding Hazard Communication, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Lockout/Tagout, and Electrical Safety programs.
Support safety initiatives related to industrial robotics, automated manufacturing equipment, machine safeguarding, and Safety PLC applications.
Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of EHS policies, procedures, and best practices.
Facilitate employee safety training and awareness programs to promote a strong safety culture.
Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and industry safety standards.
Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on reducing risk and enhancing operational safety performance.
Support emergency response planning and incident preparedness initiatives.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification preferred.
Experience supporting safety programs within a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.
Experience conducting risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations.
Understanding of Hazard Communication, PPE, Electrical Safety, and machine safety principles.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
