Job Description

The responsibilities of the Environmental Engineer are:
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable environmental regulations, including EPA, state, and local requirements.
  • Prepare and submit required environmental reports (e.g., TRI, Tier II, RCRA, NPDES, air emissions inventory, wastewater documentation).
  • Support the development, implementation, and auditing of environmental policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Maintain environmental permits, ensuring timely renewals, modifications, and adherence to permit conditions.
  • Manage hazardous and nonhazardous waste streams, including profiling, storage, labeling, scheduling pickups, and maintaining manifests.
  • Oversee universal waste, used oil, and chemical storage areas to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections of waste accumulation areas and environmental control systems.
  • Support sustainability programs centered on waste reduction, resource efficiency, pollution prevention, and emissions reduction.
  • Identify environmental improvement opportunities and work with plant teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Assist with corporate environmental goals and sustainability reporting metrics.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Environmental Engineer will have the following:
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in environmental compliance, preferably in manufacturing, chemicals, or industrial operations.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations (RCRA, CERCLA, EPCRA, SPCC, CAA, CWA).
  • Strong analytical, problemsolving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work crossfunctionally.
