Overview:
The EHSS Intern position would provide the intern with an opportunity to gain real-world experience in environmental, health, and safety, and to gain exposure to manufacturing processes/procedures. The candidate would be responsible for handling projects at the Mesquite Manufacturing Site to ensure that all applicable company, federal, state, and local environmental, safety & health regulations are met.
Responsibilities:
- Develop LOTO equipment specific procedures in support of the Filling department, mix/shade process tanks and raw material tanks.
- Update confined space assessments, line labeling and the development of pre-populated permits
- Develop awareness level training content for distribution.
- Assist with EHSS training, site specific program development and iWarehouse system management
- Perform periodic inspections for safety compliance
- Weekly waste inspections
- Weekly eyewash inspection
- Forklift battery charging area
- Monthly Spill kit inspection and restocking
- Random Audit of Fork Lift checklists
- Random Audit of Hoist Pre-use checklists
Qualifications:
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of basic federal, state, and local environmental, safety & health regulations.
- Looking for a candidate with a track in environmental science, safety, industrial hygiene, or other STEM fields.
- Must be able to wear proper PPE and steel-toed boots throughout the entire shift.
Pay Range :
USD $20.00 - USD $22.00 /Hr.
