EI Resource Classroom

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Michigan Special Education Teacher Certification (SE Certification), EI Endorsement
- Experience with in a resource room required, experience in a self contained classroom preferred
- Experience with students with emotional impairments
- Must meet MCL 380.1531 & Administrative Rules Governing the Certification of MI Teachers
- Other requirements as determined by the Lincoln Park Board of Education
DUTIES:
- Adapting, accommodating, and modifying the general education curricula, pedagogy, and learning environments for students.
- Aligning and adapting the student's program with the general education curriculum
- Developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized behavior management strategies and plans. Must prepare and implement behavior plans based upon functional behavioral assessments.
- Participate in/facilitate Wraparound Meetings
- Using a range of curriculum guides to assist with identifying functional goals.
- Employing current assessment instruments and approaches, intervention methodologies, strategies, and techniques that are appropriate for students linking assessment outcomes to curriculum planning.
- Ability to complete records in a timely manner
- Possess skills to communicate to all members of the school & community
- Be able to meet the physical and mental demands of the teaching profession and the position
- Philosophy in accord with Lincoln Park Public Schools
- Able to work cooperatively
- Ability to follow requirements of supervisors
- Classroom instruction and instructional leader for meeting the needs of Special Education students
- Other duties as required by Executive Director of Special Education and Building Principal
