EKG Tech II

Full-Time / 40 Hours / Days (6a-2:30p) & every other weekend

Summary:

Performs, edits and confirms routine and specialized EKGs (right sided; rhythm strips; etc). Completes all appropriate paperwork including computer entry. Assists with event recorders as needed.

  1. Formal Education Required:

a. High School graduate or equivalent with further education and/or courses in the health care profession (such as: EMT, Paramedic, Medical Assistant Courses, Nursing, certification in Basic and/or Advanced Life Support, CPR)

  1. Experience & Training Required:

a. Prior EKG experience/EKG certification or equivalent training

b. Additional on the job training to learn application and removal of Holter monitors and event recorders

c. Must have BLS/ CPR within 6 months of hiring.

d. Prior experience in the health field would be preferred

  1. Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:

a. Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity

b. Maintain confidentiality of patient information

c. Ability to be accurate

d. Ability to work in pressure situations and meet deadlines

e. Ability to work with others

f. Attends mandatory hospital and department meetings and in-service education programs

  1. Level of Physical Demands:

a. Light: Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to ten pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force continuously

The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay.
