Picture this: you start your day scanning IQMS dashboards, spot a cycle-time outlier, and by lunch you’re on the floor with operators refining standard work to eliminate waste. By afternoon, you’re validating a tooling tweak for a new urethane component and aligning cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth production trial. If that kind of impact excites you, you’ll thrive at Molded Dimensions.

About the Role

We’re seeking a hands-on Elastomer Process Optimization Engineer to elevate how we make engineered rubber and polyurethane parts. You’ll drive continuous improvement, provide daily production support, and partner closely on new product development. This role reports to the Director of Engineering and leans heavily on IQMS (or a similar ERP) to boost data integrity, process control, and decision-making.

What You’ll Do

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence

  • Identify efficiency gains, reduce waste, and elevate product quality across elastomer/urethane processes
  • Lead or support Lean, Six Sigma, and cost-reduction initiatives
  • Analyze production data to uncover trends, root causes, and targeted improvements
  • Create and sustain clear standard work and process documentation

Production Support & Troubleshooting

  • Provide day-to-day engineering support for shop-floor teams
  • Resolve issues quickly; implement effective corrective and preventive actions
  • Advance process capability, validate equipment, and reduce cycle times

New Product Development (NPD)

  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and operations to launch new products
  • Contribute to process design, tooling development, and manufacturability assessments
  • Support PPAPs, first article inspections, and production trials
  • Orchestrate smooth transitions from prototype to stable production

Systems & Data Management

  • Use IQMS or similar ERP to maintain BOMs, routings, inventory accuracy, and production records
  • Strengthen ERP/MES data integrity for reliable shop-floor execution
  • Generate reports and analyze KPIs to guide decisions
  • Support system enhancements that integrate seamlessly with manufacturing

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Compliance

  • Engage in plant-wide initiatives with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Champion safety, environmental stewardship, and quality standards
  • Assist with capital projects—specification, installation, and validation
  • Pitch in where needed to advance business objectives

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field
  • Experience applying Lean and/or Six Sigma in manufacturing
  • Familiarity with IQMS or comparable ERP environments
  • Strong troubleshooting, analysis, and project management skills
  • Hands-on, shop-floor orientation with excellent communication across levels
  • Independent contributor who collaborates effectively with teams, suppliers, and customers

Preferred

  • Background in rubber, urethane, or related manufacturing
  • Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or above)
  • Knowledge of material science and regulatory/compliance standards
  • Experience with statistical analysis and process control tools

Why Molded Dimensions

  • Direct, visible impact on performance and innovation
  • Collaborative, team-first culture
  • Company-wide commitment to continuous improvement and growth
  • Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits
