ELE SUMMER PROGRAM - ELEMENTARY AIDE

Belmont's elementary ELE Summer Camp will provide a multi-aged learning environment for English Learners in the Belmont district entering grades 1-7. The curriculum will be structured on the basis of grade level and English proficiency, while allowing all children to work simultaneously on the same theme. Emphasis will be placed on academic language, reading skills, and early math skills.

Session: June 29th-July 30th, 8:30-12:30 M-Th (no camp Th. 7/2)

Rate: $20 an hour

Location: Belmont Public Schools, exact locations TBD

The aide will:

• Assist the ELE teachers in one to two classrooms, each with up to 18 English Learners entering grades 1-7
• Lead small groups of students in a guided lesson, activity, or game
• Supervise and assist high school volunteers working with the students
• Organize and prepare instructional materials located/created by the teacher
