Assist with various duties relating to the administration of elections and voter registration. Assist with training and appointment of election judges and deputy registrars. Prepare correspondence and provide clerical support
Associate degree in Political Science, Government, Public Administration or a related field, and a minimum of two years office experience and/or combination of education and experience. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Must have general knowledge of election administration and voting processes. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills to interact with, the public, candidates, elected officials, county elections personnel, State Board of Elections personnel, Election Judges, and Registrars in an ever-changing political environment. Must possess a strong aptitude of computers and system operations. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows based software including Microsoft Word, Excel and Access required. Must be detail oriented and able to work under the pressure of deadlines. Ability to solve problems pertaining to election and voting processes using judgement and knowledge of election laws Typing skills of 40 wpm with effective filing and organizational skills. Must have valid Illinois driver's license. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
