Job Overview:
The Electric Operations Resource Coordinator III is responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and delivering all Electric Distribution work to both internal and external field crews for Rhode Island. This role works closely with Supervisors for assigned linemen platforms or substations to ensure efficient and effective execution of projects. The position requires a strong understanding of electrical overhead and underground line work or substation work, as well as the ability to manage resources, schedules, and stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage construction work and resource assignments to meet the work plan for Rhode Island Energy efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Schedule and coordinate short and long-term Opex and Capital construction projects to internal and external contractor crews, ensuring all customer and project deadlines are met.
  • Utilize internal systems to prepare comprehensive project folders for external contractors, including material orders, job cards, drawings, and forms, and collect as-built documentation upon project completion.
  • Monitor work backlogs to ensure timely project completion.
  • Balance and coordinate internal resources to optimize short and long-term resource needs.
  • Monitor and review construction crew activities to ensure efficient use of materials, equipment, and resources.
  • Identify risks related to scheduling, resource constraints, field conditions, materials, or equipment, and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Support divisional reliability activities by ensuring all activities are scheduled and progressed.
  • Oversee the bundling and prioritization of contingency and maintenance work to maximize efficiency and fleet utilization.
  • Facilitate construction meetings with stakeholders to ensure optimal scheduling and compliance.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for third parties, providing advice, guidance, and support regarding construction schedules and decisions.
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders to explain and support the implementation of policies and processes.
  • Be available during storm events and fulfill a regular emergency role.
Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree from a technical school is desired.
  • 4-6+ years of related experience, preferably in the utility industry.
  • Knowledge and experience in scheduling, operations, project, and program management.
  • Experience managing project teams and projects independently.
  • Ability to use direct persuasion to influence others to accept proposals.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Rhode Island’s policies and practices and their effective application.
  • Strong planning skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated personal accountability for delivering performance excellence.
  • Proficient computer skills, including utility work management systems, data systems, and MS Office applications.
  • Ability to travel as required to various locations throughout Rhode Island with a valid driver’s license (non-driving role).

Pay Range: $35- $37/hr. W2

The specific compensation for this position will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity, and location of the role, as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
