TITLE: Electrical Technician A

POSITION OBJECTIVE: To perform all duties assigned, which fall under the maintenance area of responsibility.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma/GED is preferredPrevious electrical experience required - Min 3 years.Vocational education desirable.Previous maintenance experience requiredAbility to read and interpret blueprints and schematicsGood oral and written communication skills

Must have regular, reliable attendance, and willing to work outside the regular schedule as required.Willing to handle job stress and interact with others in the workplaceConsistently demonstrates safe work habitsAdhere to all company rules and policiesHas complete understanding of the plant and department safety rulesDemonstrates good housekeeping by ensuring his or her assigned area is kept clean.Works efficiently with other employees in order to meet plant and department goals in safety, quality, production and housekeepingFollows oral and written instructions from higher managementWorks and cooperates with other departments within the plantAttends scheduled department safety and training meetingsAbility to receive constructive suggestionsAbility to troubleshoot equipment, i.e. FMC bag machine and winder, kiefel extruder and winder, amplast unwinder, ktron resin system.Comply with all written and verbal safety rules using personnel protective equipment as required by department and plant safety programs.Plan and carry-out tasks to accepted national and local standards and codes.Identify and correct, in a timely manner, problems in all areas of the plant including production equipment, material handling equipment, etc. to within accepted codes.Ability to coordinate and lead small work groups to complete assigned tasks.Check voltage with volt meter.Install bearings and deals in electrical motors of all sizes.Replace electrical motors (AC and DC)Do PMS on electrical equipmentTroubleshoot and replace heater bandsReplace and repair if possible heat controls.Troubleshoot replays, starters, circuit breakers and replace when needed.Be able to bend rigid or EMT pipeCheck and replace fuses.Read dial and venire calipers.Be able to read metric and standard measurementsCheck and repair or replace when necessary thermocouplesMust know about resin systemsMust know how to download and reload computers.Must be able to repair faulty wiring.Identify and understand the function of equipmentProvide timely preventive maintenance support and records all test dataAbility to properly fill out necessary paperwork associated with work orders, historical files, time cards and issues tickets.Must have and properly select tools required for task being performedAble to disassemble equipment make necessary repairs and restore to normal operations.Ability to train other personnel effectivelyPlanning and achieve job tasks in a timely mannerAbility to seek method by which to improve department efficiencyAvailable for overtime, call-ins and rotating scheduleWillingness to learn and upgrade skill level.Performs other related duties as assignedProvide timely preventive maintenance support coordinating with production personnelResponsible for good housekeeping in assigned and work areas.Make any mechanical repairs on equipment as necessaryCheck voltage with volt meterCheck amperes with amprobeRead electrical and construction schematics pertaining to electricalUnderstand electrical diagramsTroubleshoot electrical motorsCheck out and troubleshoot DC drivesTroubleshoot relays, starters, circuit breakers and replace when needed.Must know how to troubleshoot and repair solid state circuitryMust be able to install starters, wiring, etc. in panelsMust know all wires sizes and voltage and amp ratings.

WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:

Inside environmental conditions, protected from weather conditions, not necessarily temperature conditions.Subject to noise, causing reason to shout in order to be hard above the noise level.Subject to vibration, exposure fluctuating movements of the body.
