PGS Worldwide is seeking an Electrical Assembler in Austin, TX for a 6 month contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This role involves assembling and inspecting electromechanical equipment with a focus on conformal coating, masking, and precision workmanship. You will work in a clean room environment performing detailed assembly tasks that require accuracy and consistency.
Required Skills
- Requires two (2) years of High School or Trade School education
- Experience with conformal coating inspection
- Experience with conformal coat masking and coating
- Ability to work meticulously with masking tape
- Ability to use a fine brush to coat small features with a steady hand
- Ability to work under slight magnification for the majority of the shift
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, process plans, and drawings
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to follow work instructions and perform self-inspection of completed work
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office tools
- Ability to become solder certified
Preferred Skills
- Experience assembling electromechanical equipment
- Experience using fixturing to build assemblies
- Experience inspecting parts and materials for defects prior to use
- Experience with soldering or epoxy application
- Familiarity with solder reflow ovens, pick-and-place machines, and automated measurement systems
- IPC-A-610 and J-STD certifications
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
What You'll Do
- Assemble electromechanical components and subassemblies following work instructions
- Perform conformal coating, masking, and inspection of electronic assemblies
- Apply coatings using fine brush techniques with precision
- Work under magnification to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met
- Inspect completed work to ensure conformance to specifications
- Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Utilize tools, equipment, and fixturing to build assemblies accurately
- Support disassembly, modification, and reassembly of production units as needed
- Maintain documentation and follow production processes in a clean room environment
