This position will have responsibilities that overlap Control Panel and Mechanical Assembly departments.  This position requires a qualified person to assemble and wire components for an electrical panel, control box, control stands, and cable assemblies, with quality and within a specified time frame as well as carrying out any other duties as directed by the Supervisor or department leads.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assemble electrical or electronic systems.
  • Position, align, and install subassemblies, wiring, and components such as inverters, drives, PLC’s, and relays on enclosures and sub panels according to layout and wiring diagrams.
  • Drill, tap, screw, crimp, bolt, solder to join or secure parts, mount control units.
  • Route, secure, interconnect and terminate wiring.
  • Use testing devices such as ohm meters, voltmeters.
  • Assist in troubleshooting electrical problems and conduct repairs as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of labor hours.
  • Assist in maintaining floor stock requirements and report low stock levels.
  • Perform electromechanical and assembly functions using hand or power tools.
  • Inspect and pass assembled product on the assembly process.
  • Work as individual or as part of a team
  • Be able to read and understand electrical schematics.
  • Able to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • May be required to work overtime, if schedule dictates it.
  • Support company policies and procedures, goals and objectives, ISO policies, and good manufacturing practices.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Regularly required to stand for long periods of time.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Frequently required to use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and balance
  • Required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

KNOWLEDGE.

  • Be familiar with basic hand tools and electrical tools. ie, voltmeter, soldering iron, wire crimpers, wire strippers, ratchets, wrenches, etc.
  • Must be a good communicator.
  • Enthusiastic, cooperative, and positive attitude.

SKILLS

  • Basic math skills
  • Be familiar with the metric measuring system a plus.
  • Must be able to work in a team and meet deadlines.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Willingness to take initiative when appropriate.

EDUCATION and QUALIFICATION

  • Associate degree or trade school certification in electrical.
