Electrical Assembler I (Coax)SUMMARYUnder direct supervision, Coax Assembler I is responsible for performing simple cable assembly operations to build high-quality coax cables and wire harness products for the aerospace industry

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Build simple point-to-point coax cables following drawings and instructions to a high level of quality and productivity.Demonstrates proper use of basic hand tools: heat gun, hand crimpers, soldering, solder pot, ruler and other machines such as pinning machines and automatic wire strippers.Identifies wires with use of basic color code sequence.Completes all necessary paperwork relating to the building of coax assemblies.Make sure that workstation is clean, organized and free of hazardous materialsIs familiar with all factory safety procedures and guidelines

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED.1-year related experience preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

The following certifications/classes must be completed within 6 months of hire with a passing score.

IPC Wire and Cable FundamentalsCrimping FundamentalsJ-STD SolderingIPC/WHMA-A-620B Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harnesses

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.Conversational in any other language is a plus.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Basic arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages.

Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings and schematicsAbility to measure accurately using a ruler or tape measureAbility to build cables and wire harnesses using manufacturing instructions, while meeting all workmanship standardsWriting skills required to complete documents and formsReliable and flexible to work additional hours on short notice to complete orders and/or special projects to meet customer demands.

While performing job duties, the employee will regularly engage in activities such as using hands to finger, handle, or feel and communicating verbally. Additionally, the employee will frequently need to reach with hands and arms while standing and walking as part of the role. Occasional lifting and movement of objects weighing up to thirty (30).
