Assembly Line Lead

We are seeking an experienced Assembly Line Lead to oversee daily production activities, mentor assembly team members, and ensure the highest standards of quality and workmanship are consistently achieved.

This is a hands-on lead role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced production environment, enjoys developing people, and takes pride in delivering high-quality finished products.

Position Overview

The Line Lead is responsible for directing day-to-day assembly operations, coordinating workflow, supporting production scheduling, and maintaining strict quality standards. This role combines leadership, technical expertise, and active participation on the production floor.

You will serve as the primary point of contact for assembly staff and work closely with leadership, production coordination, engineering, quality control, and document control teams.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

  • Supervise, assign, and coordinate daily work activities for assembly team members

  • Train, mentor, and develop entry-level and experienced assemblers

  • Ensure team members are properly trained in workmanship standards (including IPC standards)

  • Address personnel concerns and support performance management efforts
  • Promote a positive, team-oriented work environment

Production Oversight

  • Assist in managing and maintaining the master production schedule

  • Ensure work orders are completed accurately and on time

  • Monitor productivity and ensure deadlines are consistently met

  • Reorganize work areas as needed to optimize workflow and efficiency

  • Review and correct timecard entries within ERP systems

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure all products are inspected in accordance with company procedures

  • Work closely with Quality Control to improve work instructions and best practices

  • Identify root causes of quality issues and implement corrective actions

  • Inspect parts, sub-assemblies, and finished goods to ensure compliance with specifications

  • Recommend process improvements and engineering changes when appropriate

Hands-On Production Support

  • Assist with electronic assembly and general assembly tasks as needed

  • Interpret drawings and specifications

  • Gather and serialize parts

  • Ensure proper polarity, solder quality, and workmanship standards

  • Maintain clean and organized workstations

Qualifications

  • Previous lead experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment

  • Strong knowledge of electronic assembly processes

  • IPC Certified or Familiarity with IPC standards preferred

  • Experience with ERP systems and production documentation

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills

  • Proficient computer skills (document editing, reporting, file management)
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
