ASSEMBLY/SERVICE TECHNICIAN - ELECTRICAL

Starts-up, calibrates and tests electrical devices on our machines for proper operation. Assembles electrical control panels, consoles, and sub-assemblies. Wires devices on machines. Troubleshoots any operational problems that may develop. Travels to customer facilities as needed to perform same duties, some international travel may be required. Other duties as may be assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-year technical degree in electronics and industrial electricity or equivalent job experience
  • Ability to read and understand schematic diagrams, use electrical test equipment
  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
  • Must be very conscious of personal safety and how duties performed affect the safe operation of our machines
  • Customer service mentality with the availability for overnight domestic travel on short notice. Some international travel may be required.
  • Ability to work and make decisions independently when in customer's facility
  • Valid driver's license and driving record that allows insurability under company's policy
  • Attention to detail and quality focused
  • Self-motivated
  • Must be able to become first aid and CPR certified

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with low voltage 3 phase power, AC & DC motor controllers, programmable controllers & related displays, industrial networks and personal computers

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Shop environment.
  • Steel-toed safety shoes and safety glasses required
  • Must be able to regularly lift loads of up to 50 pounds
  • Work can be strenuous, and includes walking, climbing, kneeling, crawling, squatting, or pulling
