The BIM Manager supports how BIM impacts project workflows, deliverables, and project execution throughout the firm. This role helps implement, maintain, and improve BIM standards, tools, and best practices across electrical teams. The position focuses on practical support, discipline-specific coordination, user success, and consistent project delivery.
The primary responsibility of this role is to support electrical project teams through standards application, content management, training, troubleshooting, and project assistance. This position reports to the BIM Program Manager and works closely with Practice Technology leadership, discipline leaders, IT, and project staff to help ensure efficient and effective use of BIM tools and workflows.
Duties:
Core Responsibilities:
Software and Systems
- Support firm use of BIM software within the electrical discipline
- Assist with upgrades, deployments, plug-ins, and software testing
- Support teams working in Autodesk Forma, formerly Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
- Troubleshoot user issues and coordinate escalations when needed
- Stay current on BIM tools, features, and industry best practices
- Familiarity with Revit add-ins for electrical work such as Elumtools and AXIS preferred
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows through available technology
Standards and Content
- Apply and reinforce established BIM standards and workflows
- Assist with maintenance of templates, families, libraries, and shared content
- Support consistency in documentation, model setup, and deliverables
- Help improve productivity through better tools and reusable content
- Participate in ongoing refinement of discipline standards
- Meet with discipline representatives using feedback to improve standards, templates and upkeep libraries
User Support and Training
- Provide day-to-day support to BIM users across electrical teams
- Deliver training for new hires and existing staff as needed
- Create clear and practical support resources for common needs
- Help users build confidence and efficiency with BIM tools
- Promote adoption of standards and best practices
Project Support
- Assist project teams with model setup and project startup needs
- Support modeling, detailing, schedules, and content creation when needed
- Help resolve BIM-related production or coordination issues
- Assist with model reviews and quality checks
- Support collaboration with other disciplines during design and coordination
Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with project teams, discipline leadership, and Practice Technology
- Coordinate with IT on hardware or software issues affecting production
- Share user feedback, recurring issues, and improvement opportunities
- Help maintain clear communication across offices and teams
