A leading engineering solutions company is seeking an Electrical CAD Designer to support design for client projects. The ideal candidate is a technically skilled designer with strong AutoCAD Electrical  proficiency. Communicating effectively, the new hire will support project delivery by developing accurate drawings while collaborating with engineering, suppliers, and customers.

Salary + Additional Benefits:

Location: Houston, TX
Type of Position: Temp-to-Hire

Responsibilities: 
  • Design, draw, and revise component drawings as needed using Inventor and AutoCAD.
  • Generate 2D & 3D designs as parts of assemblies involving various materials.
  • Create assembly and installation drawings for projects or customer orders including BOM.
  • Design with concerns for manufacturability and durability.
  • Originate and/or develop designs for products relating to defined customer needs or proprietary items.
  • Complete thorough documentation of design work.
  • Partner with component suppliers for improved integration results.
  • Manage own work breakdown, tracking and progress reporting.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma GED a minimum; 2-year degree in Engineering or technical background preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in an equivalent background
  • Must be very customer oriented
  • Strong background with AutoCAD Electrical is a must
  • Familiar with electrical systems including VFD lineups, switch gear cabinet design, power distribution systems, control/PLC cabinets and upper-level e-houses
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written are required
