This role focuses on providing electrical CAD drafting support for ongoing new construction commercial and residential projects across all five boroughs. You will create accurate electrical drawings, participate in coordination meetings, and collaborate closely with project teams to ensure that designs align with electrical codes and project requirements. Responsibilities

• Produce detailed electrical CAD drawings for new construction commercial and residential projects in all five boroughs.
• Draft electrical layouts and details based on shop drawings and as-built drawings provided by the project team.
• Read and interpret electrical blueprints to create accurate and compliant drawings.
• Apply knowledge of electrical codes to ensure all drawings meet applicable standards and regulations.
• Attend and actively participate in coordination meetings with project managers and other team members.
• Collaborate closely with the project manager to understand project scope, timelines, and design requirements.
• Update and revise drawings as needed throughout the project lifecycle to reflect design changes and field conditions.
• Use AutoCAD, including 3D functionality, to develop and modify electrical drawings efficiently.
• Support building drafting activities and ensure that electrical layouts integrate properly with other building systems.
• Work independently on assigned drafting tasks, managing time effectively to meet project deadlines.
• Maintain organized drawing files and documentation for each project.
• Demonstrate consistent drafting quality, speed, and accuracy, and respond constructively to technical feedback.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of experience as an Electrical CAD Drafter or Operator working on new construction commercial and residential projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD with demonstrated experience using AutoCAD 3D for electrical drafting.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints accurately.
• Knowledge of electrical codes and the ability to apply them in drafting work.
• Experience in electrical drafting for building projects.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in creating and revising drawings.
• Ability to work independently and manage drafting tasks with minimal supervision.
• Comfort participating in coordination meetings and collaborating with project managers and team members.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience using Revit for electrical or building-related drafting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for project-related documentation and tracking.
• Familiarity with new construction workflows for both commercial and residential projects.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple drawings and project files.
• Effective communication skills to discuss technical details with project stakeholders.

Work Environment

The role is based in an office located in Brooklyn, NY, with all projects local to the New York City area. Project start times are at 7:00 a.m., so you should be comfortable with early starts and a schedule aligned to active construction projects. You will work in a professional office environment using AutoCAD, AutoCAD 3D, Revit, and Microsoft Excel as core tools. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brooklyn, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $41.00/hr.
