Electrical CAD Technician (Contract-to-Hire)

Location: Fort Worth, TX

Position Overview:
We are seeking an Electrical CAD Technician to join our team in Fort Worth, TX on a contract-to-hire basis. This role supports a team of detailers, designers, and engineers in delivering high-quality drafting and design solutions across a variety of projects. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically curious, and eager to grow within the engineering and design field.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing new drawings and revising existing engineering drawings based on sketches, layouts, and design direction
• Support the development and revision of permit and plot drawings
• Follow company and client drafting standards and procedures
• Adhere to discipline-specific drafting practices
• Contribute to drafting design and documentation efforts across multiple projects
• Utilize standard drafting tools and detail programs to complete assigned tasks
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to drafting and detailing processes
• Research project-related issues and recommend practical design solutions
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure accuracy and consistency in deliverables
• Perform additional duties as assigned
• Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety standards

Qualifications:

• Associate’s Degree required
• Coursework in drafting technology or a specialized CAD certification required
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation is a plus
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Solid problem-solving and analytical abilities
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Demonstrated leadership potential and initiative
• Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and grow within the field
