Job: Electrical Commissioning Engineer
Location: San Diego, CA area
Salary: $140,000 - 150,000
Duration: Permanent/Direct Hire
We’re seeking an Electrical Commissioning Engineer to support a long-term K-12 school district modernization program across approximately 250 school sites in the San Diego area.
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in improving the reliability, performance, and functionality of electrical systems that support healthier, more comfortable learning environments.
What You'll Do:
• Represent the Owner during electrical modernization and commissioning activities
• Review electrical designs and observe third-party testing
• Verify performance of electrical distribution, lighting, lighting controls, and photovoltaic (PV) systems
• Track issues, support functional testing, and help resolve system deficiencies
• Travel locally between school sites (typically within 20–25 minutes of each other)
What We're Looking For:
• 5–10+ years of electrical commissioning, testing, or electrical design experience
• Commissioning certification (CBCP, CxA, CCP, or similar) strongly preferred
• Experience with electrical distribution, lighting systems, and controls
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with clients and project teams
• PE or EIT is a plus, but commissioning experience is more important
