Our client is seeking an Electrical Compliance Test Engineer to support it's engineering team on a 6–9 month contract. This role will primarily focus on preparing, setting up, and supporting electrical and compliance testing for advanced electronic hardware. Working closely with senior engineers, you'll help ensure products are ready for internal validation and third-party certification testing.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer looking to gain hands-on experience in compliance testing, hardware validation, and electrical engineering. As project priorities shift, this individual will also provide support to the Electrical Engineering team on a variety of hardware-related projects. There is potential for this role to convert to a full-time position based on business needs, but at this time we anticipate the position to last for 6-9 months.

Job Details
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and set up electrical and compliance test configurations for engineering projects.
Configure test equipment, fixtures, and hardware required for EMC, safety, and product validation testing.
Support internal engineering teams during electrical hardware testing activities.
Coordinate product preparation and logistics for testing performed by external compliance laboratories ("test houses").
Assist senior engineers with troubleshooting test setups and resolving hardware-related issues during testing.
Collect and organize test data for review by senior engineering staff.
Maintain test equipment, lab organization, and testing schedules to ensure projects remain on track.
Support electrical engineering projects during periods of lower compliance testing activity.
Work collaboratively with cross-functional engineering teams to support product development and validation.
Note: Senior engineering staff will lead compliance documentation, certification activities, and regulatory submissions. This position is focused primarily on test setup, execution support, and coordination.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
1–3 years of engineering experience, including internships or co-op experience with hardware testing.
Hands-on experience setting up or supporting electrical hardware testing.
Familiarity with electronic components, circuit boards, laboratory equipment, and test instrumentation.
Exposure to compliance testing, EMC testing, or electrical safety testing.
Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable working in a laboratory environment with hands-on hardware.
Preferred
Experience supporting EMC or regulatory compliance testing.
Familiarity with UL safety standards and certification processes.
Experience working with third-party compliance or certification laboratories.
Exposure to hardware validation, product qualification, or manufacturing test environments.
Experience supporting complex electronic or computing hardware products.
