Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an Electrical Component Engineer to support a major aerospace and defense client. This role supports a Component Engineering team responsible for sustaining and advancing a broad portfolio of aerospace, defense, and national security systems. The ideal candidate is an early‑career engineer with foundational knowledge of electrical and electronic components who is interested in developing long‑term expertise in obsolescence management and Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) while working alongside experienced engineers and subject matter experts. This role is fully onsite in Berkeley, MO, and candidates must have the ability to obtain a Secret level clearance.
Position Responsibilities Include:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering or a related discipline
Knowledge of basic electrical and electronic components, including:
Resistors, capacitors, diodes, inductors
Transformers, connectors, integrated circuits
Ability to research and evaluate alternate components using datasheets, supplier documentation, and online technical resources
Understanding of part obsolescence concepts and evaluation of alternate components
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a structured engineering team
Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
