Electrical Construction Foreman - Construction - Base Salary to 42.00/hour - Hampton Roads, VA

  • Our client, a growing specialty electrical contractor serving the roadway, municipal, and industrial markets, is seeking an Electrical Construction Foreman to join their team in the Hampton Roads, VA area.
  • This hands-on field leadership role will oversee electricians and apprentices while performing electrical construction, installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair work. The Electrical Construction Foreman will support commercial, municipal, roadway, and industrial electrical projects and ensure field work meets National Electrical Code (NEC), project drawing, specification, and safety requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise electricians and apprentices on commercial, municipal, roadway, and industrial electrical construction projects.
  • Perform hands-on electrical installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair work alongside the field crew.
  • Read and interpret electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, electrical drawings, specifications, and manufacturer installation manuals.
  • Install, terminate, maintain, and service electrical equipment, lighting fixtures and systems, control devices, electrical panels, and power distribution systems.
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit using hand and power tools.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems and equipment in industrial and field environments.
  • Use electrical testing and diagnostic equipment, including multimeters and meggers.
  • Inspect installed electrical equipment and systems to identify hazards, deficiencies, and required adjustments, repairs, or replacements.
  • Ensure electrical construction and installation work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC), project specifications, and applicable safety requirements.
  • Coordinate daily field activities, direct crew assignments, and support project schedules and field productivity.
  • Provide field training and direction to electricians and apprentices.
  • Follow company jobsite safety procedures and operating requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Electrical construction experience in commercial, municipal, roadway, industrial, or related electrical environments.
  • Experience leading or supervising electricians, apprentices, or electrical construction crews in a foreman, working foreman, lead electrician, field supervisor, or comparable field leadership role.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, electrical construction methods, and the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Experience reading and interpreting electrical drawings, blueprints, wiring diagrams, specifications, and installation manuals.
  • Hands-on experience with conduit installation, electrical equipment, lighting systems, controls, electrical panels, and power distribution systems.
  • Electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic experience.
  • Experience using multimeters, meggers, electrical testing equipment, and standard electrical construction tools.
  • Experience providing field direction or training to electricians and apprentices.
  • Ability to work in person at project locations throughout the Hampton Roads, VA area.

Compensation:

  • Base salary in the 30.00 - 42.00/hour range
