Picture your first week at HardHat in Childress, TX: you arrive on site, open Bluebeam, Dalux, Procore, and Smartsheet, and guide a complex build through another successful day. You’re the hub for all things execution—coordinating field needs, clearing technical roadblocks, and keeping documentation airtight so the team can build with confidence.
A Day in the Life
Kick off by aligning the plan: update and distribute project documentation packages—RFIs, submittals, transmittals, change orders, ASIs, T&M tickets, inspection reports, and constraint logs.
Verify compliance items are in hand: permits, insurance certificates, bonds, and other project-required documentation.
Refresh live trackers in Smartsheet: schedule, manpower, progress, materials, equipment, safety, quality, and commissioning. Issue clear, regular performance reports.
Walk the field to answer drawing questions, provide technical support, assist with survey/layout, and remove obstacles affecting production or schedule.
Review drawings, specifications, BIM models, and shop drawings; coordinate BIM updates, redlines, and as-builts so changes are captured in real time.
Keep materials and equipment flowing: track orders and deliveries, support procurement planning, and watch for shortages, procurement risks, manpower assignments, and equipment log updates.
Stage critical milestones: coordinate inspections, commissioning activities, Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) reviews, and customer acceptance testing. Collect and maintain all test/inspection records (torque, megger, fire alarm, etc.) and uphold QA requirements.
Close with confidence: assemble comprehensive closeout packages (as-builts, O&M manuals, test reports, commissioning and inspection records), manage final turnover, and confirm all contractual closeout obligations are fully met.
