Cherryland Electric Cooperative is seeking a Construction Work Plan Project Engineer to help design, plan, and support the future of our electric distribution system serving nearly 40,000 members across Northern Michigan.
This role blends engineering, field coordination, long-range planning, and project execution in an environment where no two days look exactly the same. From system improvement projects and line extensions to contractor coordination and field staking, this position plays a direct role in supporting reliable electric service for the communities we serve.
We're looking for someone who is technically capable, adaptable, collaborative, and comfortable balancing office responsibilities with field-based work. The right candidate communicates well with crews, contractors, landowners, and members - and understands that utility work is ultimately about people just as much as infrastructure. As mentioned, this position includes both office and field-based work, including outdoor work in varying weather and terrain conditions. Occasional evening or extended hours may be required during periods of high workload or storm response.
Cherryland Electric Cooperative is a member-owned electric utility headquartered in beautiful Northern Michigan. We're proud to provide reliable electric service while maintaining a culture that values collaboration, innovation, accountability, and community connection.
This position offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful infrastructure projects while working alongside experienced utility professionals in an organization where your work has visible impact.
