Position Purpose:We are actively seeking to hire an Electrical / Controls Engineer to join our team of Electrical Engineering Professionals located at our Lafayette, Indiana facility. We are especially interested in candidates with a strong background in PLC and HMI programming and the networking of industrial control devices, paired with the ability to read and produce electrical schematics for control panels. If you have worked with industrial control panels, drives, and similar equipment—whether from a manufacturing, programming, setup, systems integration or commissioning perspective, we would like to hear from you.These skills will be applied to our low and medium voltage switchgear, switchboards, and control panel products. Prior switchgear experience is a plus but is not required; we will help you apply your controls background to our equipment. Candidates can be involved in some or all of the following:PLC programming and configuration for industrial control systemsHMI development, equipment monitoring, and SCADA screen developmentNetworking and integration of industrial control devices such as PLCs, HMIs, and drivesCreation and interpretation of AC and DC schematics, component layouts, wiring diagrams, and one-line diagrams for control panels, including project submittals, construction plans, and as-builtsControl panel design and related component selection, applied to low & medium voltage switchgear, switchboards, and related equipmentMaking internal equipment design decisions as it relates to enclosures and internal electrical components.Support of electric power metering and protective relaying applicationsEquipment field start-up and commissioningDesired Skills and Experience:Hands-on experience with PLC and HMI programming and the networking of industrial control devicesExperience working with industrial control panels, drives, and related equipment from a manufacturing, programming, setup, and/or commissioning perspectiveAbility to read and produce electrical schematics for control panels, including AC and DC schematics, wiring diagrams, and component layoutsKnowledge of or familiarity with Electrical Engineering fundamentals, including 3 phase Wye & Delta power system applicationsInterpret customer specifications and drawings, and interact with customers to meet their requirementsAbility to multitask multiple project requirements and work with the engineering team to keep track of and meet project milestonesOral and written communication skillsFamiliarity with—or willingness to learn—low & medium voltage switchgear, switchboards, circuit breakers, power generation & distribution systems, motor control, generator paralleling, and automatic source transfer.
