What you’ll do: As an Automation Engineer, you will manage and design new Automation tooling and equipment. You will also support and improve current manufacturing systems.
Duties / Responsibilities of this position:
Develop new and support existing robotic automation systems. Projects often involve injection mold press tending, automated component feeding and assembly, laser marking, and vision inspection.
Identify and implement appropriate new technology, controls and automation to maintain a competitive advantage in the market.
Manage new projects considering budget/cost targets, delivery timelines and early build events.
Communicate with customers, suppliers, and internal personnel during all phases of new launches.
Troubleshoot and coordinate appropriate response measures for existing production equipment.
Responsible for electrical controls, simulation, programming, debug, and start-up assistance.
Lead process development efforts for single component and 2 component liquid dispense applications. This includes specifying equipment and performing material trials.
Ability to travel as needed (<10%) when support is required at off-site equipment installations.
Ability to occasionally support 2nd and 3rd shifts as needed.
This position works closely with all levels of the organization to fulfill needs. Activities of this person may include (but are not limited to):
Design & management of new automated equipment
Develop project proposals, budgets, timelines, & open issue logs
Generation and modification of control & pneumatic schematics
Robot, PLC, & HMI programming
Ensure that equipment performs as specified
Collaboration with outside vendors to ensure that all project goals are met.
Work with internal skilled trades, operators, and outside vendors to troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
Knowledge of Robotic Systems & Programming preferred
Knowledge of Pneumatic Circuits preferred
