Are you the person customers count on when their power system trips, a PLC program misbehaves, or a breaker won’t close? If you thrive on solving tough electrical problems without hand-holding, this Technician II role with JDC Power Systems, LLC is for you.
What you’ll tackle
- Diagnose and repair: transformers, circuit breakers, low/medium-voltage switchgear, PLC controls, and SCADA interfaces.
- Own on-site troubleshooting with minimal supervision to minimize downtime.
- Perform inspections, testing, and verification to industry standards.
- Partner with senior technicians/engineers on escalations and complex calls.
- Be the main point of contact for the customer during service activities.
- Produce clear reports: test data, findings, corrective actions, and performance insights.
- Schedule and prioritize work; coordinate parts and tools for efficient completion.
- Maintain precise records for inventory, time, and equipment usage.
- Use remote diagnostics; support junior and senior teammates remotely as needed.
- Lead with safety: run briefings, site hazard assessments, and follow OSHA/company protocols.
- Contribute to SOPs and recommend improvements to elevate service delivery.
Bring these qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- NFPA 70E, OSHA 30, or related certifications are a plus.
- 3–5 years of field service experience in power systems, electrical equipment, or industrial controls.
- Track record troubleshooting and repairing complex electrical systems/components.
- Experience with PLCs, SCADA, LV/MV switchgear, transformers, breakers, and protective relays.
- Familiarity with field service software/tools is helpful.

- Experience across both low- and medium-voltage systems.
- Exposure to PLCs, SCADA platforms, and protective relay commissioning.
Where & how you’ll work
- Location: DMV area; regional office in Sterling, VA.
- Travel: Daily/weekly trips to customer sites and internal field locations throughout the region.
