Electrical EIT/CoordinatorRole OverviewAs part of HDR's Building Engineering Services Group, the Electrical EIT/Coordinator will design the critical infrastructure that supports the digital age and shapes spaces where people work, connect, and thrive. The role focuses on electrical engineering assignments for building projects, collaborating with owners and multidisciplinary teams to produce design solutions.ResponsibilitiesPerform assignments, exercising judgment in evaluating, selecting, and modifying electrical engineering techniques and procedures.Work directly with owners to develop recommendations.Review electrical documents for conflicts with all disciplines.Write and edit electrical specifications, select equipment and devices.Conduct analyses to develop electrical design options or recommendations, and assist in preparing cost estimates and specifications.Perform routine electrical engineering assignments per instructions from the Project Engineer or Project Manager.Work on projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables.Assist senior engineers on larger projects or lead small projects.Develop project electrical design and documents with assistance from Project Engineers, other Electrical EITs, or Technicians as needed.Give full commitment to HDR's Values.Perform other duties as needed.Take on contract administration responsibilities requiring field inspections and conflict resolution.Make decisions on significant design and engineering features as needed.Function as a Project Manager on small and mid-size projects as required, though project management is not the principal focus.Supervise the work of Electrical CAD Technicians and coordinate design with architectural staff and other engineering disciplines.Preferred QualificationsEngineer in Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain one. Candidates hired without EIT will be titled "Electrical Coordinator" and expected to obtain EIT for career progression.Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.At least 4 years of experience designing electrical lighting, power, and systems for building projects.Experience using SKM, AGI, and Easy Power preferred.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.Desire to pursue growth opportunities and obtain registration.Strong computer skills using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, Revit, SKM, AGI, and Easy Power.Commitment to active participation in an employee‑owned culture.Location & EmploymentPrimary Location: United States - Kentucky - LouisvilleSchedule: Full‑timeEmployee Status: RegularJob Posting Date: May 4, 2026EEO StatementAt HDR, we are committed to the principles of employment equity.
