What you will do

  • Break down bid docs to produce complete cost models for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
  • Execute precise takeoffs from electrical drawings and schematics, P&IDs, and multi-view/isometric details.
  • Validate scope and site conditions through field walks and client walkthroughs.
  • Team with construction managers, engineers, and field electricians to confirm constructability and means/methods.
  • Coordinate with vendors/manufacturers to confirm specifications and pricing for gear, controls, and components.
  • Interface with inspectors and authorities having jurisdiction to ensure permitting/compliance is covered.
  • Specify and procure wire, conduit, fittings, and control systems; manage quotes and delivery strategies.
  • Support schedule development, labor planning, and cost tracking with project teams.
  • Incorporate realistic installation approaches and jobsite constraints into every estimate.
  • Apply NEC/NFPA 70 and OSHA 29 CFR 1926; include LOTO, arc-flash, and site-specific safety costs.
  • Drive continuous improvement in estimating accuracy, standardization, and cost efficiency.
  • Document assumptions, clarifications, and revisions in an organized, auditable way.

What you bring

  • 7+ years of electrical field construction experience and 3+ years in estimating.
  • Deep knowledge of power distribution, instrumentation, and control wiring.
  • Strong plan-reading skills: blueprints, electrical schematics, P&IDs, and isometric/multi-view drawings.
  • Working familiarity with NEC, NFPA 70, and OSHA standards.
  • Proficiency with estimating tools and Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Nice to have: AutoCAD or SolidWorks experience.
  • Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and analytical problem-solving.
  • Ability to split time between desk work and field verification; strong communicator and collaborator.

Must-haves

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Willingness to travel locally for site visits.

Work setting

  • Primarily office-based with regular time on construction and industrial sites.
  • Exposure to active jobsites, industrial plants, and client facilities.

Pay and rewards

Hourly rate for this position is expected to be between $40.00 to $60.00, plus participation in our annual bonus plan and long-term incentive plan. The actual pay may be higher depending on your qualifications and experience.
