Job Description Job Description Electrical Design Engineer – OEM Machine BuilderPosition SummaryAn OEM machine builder is seeking an experienced and motivated Electrical Design Engineer to support the design, development, and implementation of electrical control systems for custom automated machinery and equipment. This role will work closely with mechanical engineers, controls engineers, manufacturing teams, and customers to deliver high-quality automation solutions from concept through commissioning.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign electrical systems for custom automated machinery and industrial equipmentDevelop electrical schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams using AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar softwareSpecify electrical components including PLCs, HMIs, drives, motors, sensors, safety devices, and control panelsCreate and maintain bills of materials (BOMs) and technical documentationEnsure designs comply with NEC, UL, NFPA, and applicable industry standardsCollaborate with controls engineers to support PLC and HMI integrationCoordinate with mechanical engineering and manufacturing teams during machine build and assembly phasesSupport troubleshooting, testing, commissioning, and startup activities both in-house and at customer sitesParticipate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiativesProvide technical support to production, service, and field teams as neededQualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field2+ years of experience in electrical design within industrial automation, machinery, or OEM environments preferredExperience designing industrial control panels and machine electrical systemsProficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar electrical CAD softwareFamiliarity with PLC systems, VFDs, servo systems, and industrial communication networksUnderstanding of UL508A, NEC, NFPA 79, and machine safety standardsAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and specificationsStrong problem-solving and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience with custom automation or special-purpose machineryExposure to robotics, motion control, or vision systemsField commissioning or startup experienceKnowledge of Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or Beckhoff control platformsWork Environment & ScheduleStandard full-time schedule, Monday through FridayPrimarily office and manufacturing floor environmentOccasional travel may be required for customer site support and machine commissioningCompany Description We are a firm focused in the STEM Talent Arena; Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.We build and have long term relationships with our clients and represent our clients transparently.
