GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
To determine and implement electrical designs that meet cost and schedule objectives and customer requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Reviews customer requirements including customer specifications, Statements of Work, and interface drawings in order to ensure compliance with contract.
Attends job kick-off meetings and participates in design reviews with customers.
Support the preparation and update task lists and schedules.
Works to plan schedules and budgets on assigned programs.
Designs AC & DC electrical systems from customer specifications.
Develop system layouts, subassembly configurations and packaging criteria.
Prepares wiring diagrams, schematics, and wire lists.
Provides design input to mechanical engineers and CAD design team.
Reviews and approves drawings.
Supports production of prototype and electrical system build.
Interfaces with other departments to resolve questions and technical issues.
Creates technical proposals, technical materials, procurement specifications and electrical analyses.
Supports the Sales department in proposal development and engineering estimates.
Reviews vendor/shop drawings, quotes, and proposals.
Creates electrical long leads and Cost Schedule Impact Logs (CSIL's.)
Submits Engineering Change Proposals (ECP's, RFW's, etc.).
Interfaces with customers, program management, and contracts to resolve customer issues.
Contributes to product improvement, new product development and product standardization.
Failure analysis with clear problem interpretation and robust solution proposals.
Provides risk assessment and mitigation for electrical design engineering tasks.
Support company and customer test development and validation.
Support Electromagnetic shielding and filtering.
