Seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to support our client in Greenville, SC.Requirements:Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding technical solutions to problems of intermediate complexity under direct supervision of the Discipline Lead Engineer or Area Lead Engineer, in accordance with project requirements.Develop and review specifications and design criteria.Perform and check engineering analyses and calculations; specify materials, equipment, and systems; and solve technical problems of intermediate complexity.Coordinate technical issues with other disciplines, project management, vendors, and clients.Execute work in compliance with the Project Quality Plan and procedures.Execute work in accordance with the approved project scope, cost, and schedule baselines.Establish, control, and report on material key quantities; provide analysis and forecasts.Provide technical support for equipment and material procurement and subcontracting, including scopes of work, technical bid evaluations, and review of vendor submittals.Provide technical support for construction administration, including responses to construction requests‑for‑information and field changes.Other duties as assigned.Specific Job Requirements:Create and modify electrical design drawings (e.g., single line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagram layouts, raceway, lighting, and grounding).Perform complex system studies (e.g., short circuit, load flow, stability, motor starting, harmonics, relay coordination and ground grid).Develop area classifications and design documents.Develop electrical design documents.Perform electrical calculations such as short circuit, relay coordination, voltage drop, cable de‑rating, and cable pulling tension.Prepare motor schematics and wiring diagrams.Qualifications:Working knowledge of applicable federal (including Department of Energy orders ), state, and local codes and standards.Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include project management, coworkers, clients, vendors, and subcontractors.Job‑related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.Intermediate knowledge of discipline codes and standards.Ability to perform work in compliance with applicable local, state, and federal codes, statutes, and guidelines.Attention to detail and ability to work in a time‑conscious and time‑effective manner.Intermediate computer and software skills, including proficiency in word processing, e‑mail, spreadsheet, and electronic presentation programs.Experience providing Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) services on commercial or industrial projects.Proficiency executing EPC projects utilizing engineering analysis, 3D modeling, and 2D Computer‑Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) automation tools in a multi‑discipline environment.Must complete an Electrical Designer Self‑Assessment Form.Education:Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical (Power) Engineering and a minimum of five (5) years of work‑related experience.Preferred:Professional Engineer license.Experience with design of systems, structures, and components for nuclear facilities under the requirements of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) NQA‑1.Practical field experience.EPC project experience for the following industries:U.S Department of Energy or other U.S. Federal Government AgencyNuclear facilities under a nuclear quality assurance programManufacturing, pharmaceutical, or biotechnologyProficiency with Intergraph Smart3D (S3D).Proficiency with Visual Professional lighting design software.Advanced knowledge of electrical power systems software (e.g., SmartPlant Electrical (SPEL), Electrical Transient and Analysis Program (ETAP), etc.).Intermediate knowledge of power systems.NOTE: US Citizenship is required to perform this contract.Equal Opportunity Employer & BenefitsOCSI.co is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
