Job Description

The Electrical Design Engineering Interns job responsibilities will include supporting the team and learning to use electronic circuits and analysis, as well as circuit design verification.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the laboratory to build prototype samples and support electrical equipment for bench testing of electronic modules.
  • Support the lead engineers with development of product hardware/circuit design to meet customer specifications and requirements.
  • Support the lead electrical engineer to complete the documentation for design review meetings.
  • Support design verification and perform validation test plans, as well as learn and execute how to perform these tests and generate engineering reports or test reports.
  • Support activities related to hardware design process and provide feedback to the engineering teams.
  • Support measurements of signals of electrical circuits in the laboratory using multimeter, oscilloscopes, power supplies, signal generators and similar lab equipment.

Education and Experience:

  • Student of B.S. in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
  • Completed relevant electrical engineering courses.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Clear understanding of electronic components and the main parameters to conduct investigations on circuits.
  • Basic knowledge in circuit design and theory of electronics.
  • Basic knowledge in transducers, sensors, data acquisition and laboratory equipment.
  • Learn Engineering Design Assistant Software for Schematic drafting and PCB layout design.
  • Learn electronic circuit design and perform circuit simulation and learn how to create worst-case circuit analysis (WCCA) based on similar circuits.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Ability to learn to build prototype samples and support equipment in the laboratory.
  • Ability to write test reports and engineering investigation documents.
  • Ability to use or willing to learn to use measurement and test equipment.
  • Ability to use or willing to learn about circuit simulation tools.
  • Ability to learn or work with soldering / desoldering components.
  • Must possess communication proficiency, capable decision making, and problem solving/analysis.
  • Must maintain a professional and cooperative demeanor.
  • Must be reliable, self-directed, and capable of working independently, with the ability to work on projects simultaneously and use sound judgment in prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Proactive, team-oriented person who can anticipate needs, take initiative with excellent follow-through, and require little direction or supervision.
