Job Title: Electrical Design Technician

Job Description

Join our team as an Electrical Design Technician, where you will provide technical and design services supporting power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and telecommunication systems. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary project team to develop electrical design and construction drawings and specifications for higher education, healthcare, and commercial/industrial facilities.

In this role, you will be responsible for completing design tasks within budget and on schedule while working closely with the Project Manager, Electrical Engineering team members, and other design professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and design support for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and telecommunication systems
  • Prepare electrical design and construction drawings and specifications
  • Collaborate with project team members to deliver projects on time and within budget
  • Use AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit for design and drafting work
  • Contribute to projects involving arc flash analysis and coordination studies using SKM software

Required Skills

  • At least 1 year of experience using AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit
  • Two-year degree in computer-aided drafting, electrical systems technology, or a related technical field
  • Strong technical and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record

Additional Qualifications

  • Associate degree in an engineering-related field or a bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
  • Experience with drafting and analysis tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and SKM
  • Ability to pursue Professional Engineer (PE) registration
  • 2+ years of experience providing technical and design services for electrical construction or installation
  • Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Strong interest in electrical design

Work Environment

This position is based in either the Asheville office, working with a team of five MEP professionals, or the Greenville office, working with a smaller team. The role offers a collaborative environment with opportunities for professional growth and development.

This is a Permanent position based out of Asheville, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
