    Job Responsibilities

    Marketing

    • Assist in preparing marketing presentation materials with electrical scope highlights.
    • Assist in preparing marketing presentation materials with electrical scope highlights.
    • Organize and maintain proposal binders and electrical project sheets.

    Design

    • Develop building electrical systems: power distribution (one-line diagrams, load calculations, panel schedules, feeder/conduit sizing, voltage drop), lighting and lighting controls, and equipment connections.
    • Perform lighting calculations and layouts using AGi32 or DIALux; coordinate lighting control sequences per energy codes.
    • Coordinate utility service requirements with local utilities; assist with service load letters and applications.
    • Prepare fire alarm layouts and device coordination in accordance with NFPA 72 and local AHJ requirements.
    • Coordinate low-voltage/technology systems (telecom, data, security, AV) layouts and device rough-in with specialty consultants.
    • Produce coordinated construction documents (plans, details, schedules, and specifications) using Revit MEP and AutoCAD; maintain model fidelity and drawing standards.
    • Participate in BIM coordination and clash detection (e.g., Navisworks), and resolve conflicts with architectural, structural, mechanical, and plumbing disciplines.
    • Support QA/QC reviews, redline incorporation, and design revisions through project milestones.

    Pre-Construction

    • Assist in preparing bid documents with the BD/Precon team, including scope narratives, basis-of-design, and drawing/specification packages.
    • Support quantity takeoffs and preliminary estimates for electrical systems; compile equipment schedules and vendor budgetary quotes.
    • Assist in responding to RFIs, addenda, and client inquiries during the bid phase.
    • Assist with translation of client documents (Japanese to English and/or English to Japanese) as needed.

    During Construction

    • Supervising on Beginning, Midterm, Term-end as designer.
    • MEP Inspection for completion.

    Office/Design Administration

    • Organize and maintain the electrical standards, detail libraries, Revit families, and cut sheet libraries.
    • Help track code updates and best practices; contribute to lessons-learned documentation and templates.

    Work Experience and Education Requirements

    • Knowledge of building electrical engineering principles and design techniques for commercial/industrial facilities.
    • Knowledge of building materials and construction methods relevant to electrical systems.
    • Knowledge of CAD/BIM methods and techniques (AutoCAD, Revit MEP).
    • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards: NEC (NFPA 70), IBC, IECC/ASHRAE 90.1, NFPA 72, and local/state amendments.
    • Knowledge of coordination with structural, mechanical, and architectural disciplines and the impact on electrical design and costs.
    • Skill in preparing electrical construction drawings and specifications.
    • Skill in performing electrical calculations: load, short-circuit, voltage drop, selective coordination; familiarity with arc-flash study inputs.
    • Proficiency with design tools such as AGi32/DIALux (lighting) and SKM Power Tools/ETAP (preferred).
    • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit MEP for modeling and documentation.
    • Strong written and verbal communication; ability to coordinate with clients, consultants, and contractors.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering (Electrical emphasis) AND 1–3 years of electrical design experience including the use of CAD/BIM technology. Masters degree in a related field preferred.
    • EIT/FE certification preferred; PE licensure a plus.
    • An Associate’s degree with 3–5 years of directly relevant experience may be considered.
