GENERAL FUNCTION: Electrical Designer - responsible for creating designs, diagrams, 3D models, etc. and incorporating owner/vendor inputs. Electrical designer will work with Sr. Designer and Engineer in designing, construction, and installation of electric or electronic components/systems.

TYPICAL DUTIES: The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities.

• Create designs (diagrams, 3D models, etc)
• Assist in drafting and designing functional electrical systems under the supervision of Cognizant Electrical Engineer.
• Produces routine drafting layouts, basic drawings and markups.
• Assist in creating innovative and cost-effective solutions in the development of vessels.
• Responsible for completeness of assigned drawings
• Coordinates with engineers and other designers

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Solid technical design skills
• Understanding of regulatory bodies and shipyard standards
• Interprets specs with guidance
• Evaluates straightforward design options
• Good AutoCAD skills
• Ability to follow detailed instructions
• Works well with team

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:

1+ years' design experience or equivalent shipboard related experience or associate degree in relevant field.
