PGS Worldwide is seeking an Electrical/Electronic Technician in Maple Grove, MN for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.
The Electrical/Electronic Technician will support an Electrical Engineering Lab working on complex products and support equipment. This role includes design support, fabrication, assembly, testing, inspection, troubleshooting, rework, and repair of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and related components. The position requires strong hands-on technician experience in a production, prototype, engineering development, or test environment.
Required Skills
2-year technical degree.
Minimum 7 years of technician experience performing related tasks in a production or prototype environment.
Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and sketches.
Experience with fabrication, assembly, test, and inspection using engineering drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions.
Experience assembling electronic and mechanical equipment and components.
Experience assembling, reworking, and repairing circuit boards with surface mount and through-hole components.
Ability to conduct testing and generate report data.
Experience with calibration and alignment checks.
Ability to perform equipment adjustments, modifications, rework, and repairs.
Ability to fabricate mechanical and electrical parts from sketches or drawings.
Ability to operate equipment needed to complete assigned work.
Ability to work as part of a group or team.
Ability to maintain a safe work environment and follow safety policies.
Preferred Skills
10+ years of experience in an engineering product development, test, or production environment.
Experience assisting engineers with design and development of new systems and equipment.
Experience preparing schematics, design specifications, and parts lists.
Experience reviewing designs, test equipment specifications, or tools for adequacy.
Experience troubleshooting electronic, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems.
Experience creating test procedures, conducting tests, recording data, analyzing data, and writing reports.
Knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 and IPC-A-610 manufacturing and quality requirements.
What You'll Do
Support design, development, fabrication, assembly, test, inspection, troubleshooting, rework, and repair of complex products and support equipment.
Assemble, rework, and repair circuit boards and related assemblies.
Conduct tests, collect data, and generate reports.
Perform calibration, alignment checks, equipment adjustments, and repairs.
Fabricate mechanical and electrical parts from sketches and drawings.
Prepare samples for testing and operate related equipment.
Support engineers with product development, test activities, and technical documentation.
Pay
$32.03 per hour
