Electrical & Embedded Systems Engineer (Colorado Springs, USA)

As an Electrical & Embedded Systems Engineer at Swisspod, you will play a critical role in developing our Hyperloop system's flight control computer software/firmware. You will work across PCB design, power electronics, embedded systems, and firmware, contributing to the development of highly optimized and integrated electronic solutions that operate reliably and safely in demanding environments.

You will collaborate closely with our hardware, electrical, and systems engineering teams, taking designs from concept through implementation and testing. Your responsibilities will include designing and developing PCBs, power electronics and embedded hardware, selecting and integrating electronic components, developing embedded software and firmware, and ensuring seamless interaction between hardware and software. Your expertise will be essential in delivering robust, high-performance electrical systems that support the safe and efficient operation of our propulsion and vehicle systems.

Responsibilities

• Deploy a real-time high-quality C/C++/LabView code
• PCB design and layout in Altium, including high-speed digital routing, good signal integrity and power integrity fundamentals
• Design the low-voltage control architecture in unison with our electrical team
• Writing tests scenarios for proper functionality

Requirements

• C/C++, LabView knowledge
• PCB & Hardware Design: Proficiency in Altium, high-speed digital routing, signal integrity, and power integrity
• Strong understanding of EE fundamentals
• Experience with microprocessors tools
• Fluent in software fundamentals
• Familiar with Control Systems
• At ease with microcontroller-based systems and usage of MCU peripherals
• Familiarity with redundancy and functional safety practices is a plus
• Communication skills
• Passion for engineering

Nice to Have

• Power electronics (DC-DC conversion, inverter design)
• Battery pack architecture and battery management systems
• VHDL or Verilog and FPGA experience

Working Style

• Comfortable owning a board from concept to validated hardware
• Clear documentation, so designs can be handed over and reviewed easily
• Good communication across disciplines in a fast-moving R&D setting
