We are looking for a motivated and experienced Electrical Engineer to join an Electronics Subsystems Group (ESG). The team is responsible for the design and validation of electrical systems, circuit boards, and displays used in connected dispensing equipment.
We need a hands-on engineer capable of working cross-functionally to understand customer needs, design and improve products, and move them into production using a structured stage-gate process.
What You'll DoWork with cross-functional teams to determine the optimum architecture, design, and implementation of hardware products.
Independently specify, design, coordinate the build of, test, and release embedded circuit board designs.
Work closely with software and firmware teams to understand dependencies between hardware and software development activities.
Improve product quality, reduce costs, and support continuous development of new and existing products.
Apply strong DFx (Design for Excellence) best practices for circuit board assembly and testing.
Collaborate and communicate effectively across engineering and business groups.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience. Degree is not required if equivalent experience is demonstrated.
Electronics design experience including:
Wireless connectivity solutions using Thread and Matter MUST HAVE
Bluetooth and Wi-Fi experience highly desired.
Microcontroller circuit design.
Experience with communication interfaces such as Serial, USB, SPI, I2C, and CAN.
Ability to work with Procurement and Manufacturing teams to identify potential supply-chain issues and recommend appropriate actions, including:
Alternate supplier identification
Last-time-buy quantity recommendations
Component harvesting opportunities
Ability to determine appropriate verification testing for component End-of-Life (EOL) scenarios, including:
Datasheet inspection
Component testing
Board-level testing
System-level testing
Ability to work cross-functionally with Firmware and Software teams to develop feature requests and guide development of new drivers for alternate components.
Understanding of the complete electronics design lifecycle, from requirements and design through testing, manufacturing release, and sustaining engineering.
Experience using Electronics BOM Lifecycle Management tools such as Silicon Expert or IHS.
Experience developing component specifications and test plans to validate performance against requirements.
Excellent documentation, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Experience with Altium Designer.
Familiarity with cable harness design considerations and component selection.
Programming experience with C, C++, C#, or Python for test firmware.
Knowledge of domestic and international regulatory/compliance requirements, including FCC, ETSI, UL, and CE.
Experience with Windchill or another PLM system.
