Electrical Engineer 4 (92444-1)
Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for an Electrical Engineer 4. The work will be done onsite in Mossville, IL. This is a long-term position (24 months) that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $60/hr + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).
Job Summary
Cullerton Group is seeking a highly experienced Electrical Engineer to support product health and continuous improvement initiatives for advanced electrification systems, specifically focusing on e-drivetrain power inverters. This role involves hands-on testing, failure analysis, and validation of high-voltage, high-power components while working closely with cross-functional teams and global partners. The engineer will play a critical role in resolving field issues, supporting cost reduction initiatives, and ensuring long-term reliability and performance of in-production systems. This position offers a balance of lab-based testing and engineering analysis in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform lab testing, failure analysis, and root cause investigations for field and production issues
Develop and execute test plans including setup, instrumentation, data collection, and reporting
Review engineering drawings, specifications, and support design updates with cross-functional teams
Lead cost reduction and supplier validation activities, including new source introduction
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and global teams to support product improvements
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (Masters with power electronics focus preferred)
8+ years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in power electronics or inverter systems
Strong hands-on experience with testing and troubleshooting high-voltage, high-power systems
Experience with engineering tools and data analysis software (MATLAB, Python, Excel, etc.)
Knowledge of CPI processes, root cause analysis, FMEA, APQP, and PPAP
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with power inverter production, lifecycle management, and obsolescence planning
Familiarity with industry standards such as IPC and IEC
Experience working with global teams and cross-functional stakeholders
Strong communication skills and ability to lead technical discussions and design reviews
