AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer to be based in Dallas, TX or Houston, TX.

The Electrical Engineer will join a multidisciplinary, collaborative team with a range of expertise supporting the expansion of their knowledge base with the ability to travel and gain field experience.

As part of our team, you will support a tapestry of work across markets like Commercial, Federal (Military/DoD), Healthcare, Higher Education, Sports + Rec and Science + Tech markets, including landmark projects in the industry. Job Summary/Responsibilities

Electrical engineering support from conceptual design through construction administration and post-occupancy.

Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.

Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.

Supports in the review of shop drawings during the construction administration phase.

Prepares engineering related calculations and develops drawings and visual aids.

Writes reports and memos for internal and external purposes based on findings.

Works cooperatively with managers and other employees to achieve companys mission.

Ensures discipline plans that are created meet overall project team requirements for project scope, quality and schedule.

Stays current on codes and technologies appropriate to the electrical disciplines.

Supports on site visits for the purpose of data collection and evaluation of electrical systems, equipment, components and materials for projects.

Develops designs within a BIM design environment using Revit.

Completes assigned engineering and design tasks in accordance with client specified criteria and applicable codes and standards.

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or related field + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree from an ABET accredited University and has passed the fundamentals of Engineering Exam (EIT/FE)
  • Strong experience with Revit and AutoCAD based design projects
  • 4+ years of electrical engineering experience within a consulting or design-build firm
  • Strong communication skills: articulate, assertive, and confident
  • Creative thinker with effective teamwork skills
  • Desire to be mentored by leadership
  • Experience with sustainable design
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy/quality of work
  • Proficient in the use of drafting software including Revit
  • Power system studies experience utilizing SKM, ETAP or Easy Power
  • Lighting calculation experience with Visual, AGI32 or Elumtools
  • Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard Microsoft software
  • Ability to work with and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team
